Here is a few facts about the band Metallica

The snake on The Black Album cover is from an American flag during the Revolutionary War. The slogan on the flag was "Don't Tread on Me."

"One" is based (in part) on the 1971 movie "Johnny Got His Gun" written and directed by Dalton Trumbo. The Music Video has clips from the movie

The lyrics to "Ronnie" are actually based on a school shooting in 1995 in the state Washington. The shooter was Ron Brown (or: "Ronnie frown" in the lyrics).

"Phantom Lord" the name of a song off of the album "Kill Em All" is also the name of a band that James Hetfield was in prior to being in Metallica.

In the song "For Whom The Bell Tolls" the bell rings a total of 26 times in the whole song.
